5/31/2011 Flight Luxor to Cairo to Sharm El Sheikh, Hilton Sharm Fayrouz, Ocean College Dive Center, Hard Rock Cafe

We are up at 4:00 am.  OMG!  Another early start to our day.  Check out had been done evening 5/30.  We are picked up at 5:00 am.  We arrived at the airport at 5:20 am.  We check in for our flight and check our luggage too. Our flight is Egypt Air #63 departs 6:20 am.  It's a short flight from Luxor to Cairo.  We arrive early at 7:1 am.  We have a 2 hour layover before our next flight.  At the airport coffee shop I get English fruit cake slice and cappuccino coffee. Cost 33 LE.  Richard didn't want anything.  Soon it's time for our Egypt Air #303 flight to SHARM EL SHEIKH.  Departs 9:30 am.  Served mango juice.  Another short flight as we arrive at 10:30 am.  We are met by Ahmed who gives us information on restaurants, shops, and more in Sharm.

HILTON FAYROUZ.  Large beachfront resort.  Na'ama Bay.  The property is beautifully landscaped-flowers and greenery everywhere.  We will stay here for 5 nights.  Richard will be diving and I'll be relaxing.  Has a fitness center and 4 pools!  Check in.  We had been under the impression we were going to have a superior pool view room but we got upgraded!  The groups of rooms here were 4 in a single floor unit and our unit was in the row of units closest to the beach but angled and not directly facing the beach.  We have room #131 with partial sea view.  The room is very spacious.  Comfy beds, a small sofa sitting area, TV, desk, and a patio with 2 chairs.  Bathroom was equipped with usual amenities and a nice bathtub.  Only downside is that it's a long walk from the main building where we will be having our breakfast.

Next order of business is to find Emperor Divers which is the dive center I was thinking Richard would do his diving with.  Unfortunately we walked all over the promenade and couldn't find this dive center. Luckily there is one attached to our resort so that's the one for Richard.  OCEAN COLLEGE DIVE CENTER.  We booked a check dive and 3 days of diving.  Unfortunately we find ants in our room so we notify the front desk. They will have someone spray the room.

Back on the promenade we spot the HARD ROCK CAFE AND SHOP.  On our trips if there's a Hard Rock we stop there.  Kind of knew what to expect and this place didn't disappoint.  Memorabilia and decor similar to other Hard Rocks around the world.  I can get the souvenir shot glasses for my step daughter Arleen.  Cost 103.25 LE.  While here we decide to grab a bite to eat-early dinner.   I have the cheeseburger which comes with fries and Richard gets the Legendary burger which also comes with fries.  The burgers are cooked just right-medium, juicy-very tasty.  Sprite and coke-served with plenty of ice.  Yummy!  Cost without tip 157.22 LE.

Back walking the promenade.  My feet are aching so back to our hotel.  Pool time at the small pool near our room.  Richard likes this as there's no one else here.  After we decide to go for another walk on the promenade and just check things out some more.  We stop at Movenpick-Swiss ice cream stand-for ice cream cones.  Maple walnut for me and chocolate with chocolate chips for Richard.  20 LE.  There's a super market by our hotel.  We buy drinks (coke and sprite) and snacks-potato chips and a candy bar.  23 LE.  Back in our room we are ready for bed.  It's been a very long day and Richard starts his diving tomorrow.
