6/5/2011 Flight Sharm El Sheikh to Cairo, Cairo Marriott/Zamalek Tower, pool, dinner at Ristorante Tuscany

Breakfast buffet.  Back to my one egg over easy, fruit, mini danish/pastry, orange juice, coffee. Check out.

Pick up at 8:00 am drive to airport.  Our flight is Egypt Air #304.  Sharm to Cairo.  We depart late-11:30 am instead of scheduled 11:00 am.  Visibility not so good for taking pictures during our flight.

Our flight is #304 to Cairo

CAIRO.  In Cairo we are met by Fairid outside after getting our luggage.  Adel is our driver again.  Transfer to CAIRO MARRIOTT.  This hotel is huge.  Pools, fitness center.  Several restaurants.  We will stay here for 3 nights.

Check in. I had requested the same room we had from our previous stay on 5/2 which was in the Gezira Tower.  However, nothing available in that tower section.  There appears to be some sort of conference going on.  This time our room is in the Zamalek Tower.  Room #1438.  The room itself is nice but smaller than the one we had in the Gezira Tower.  Furnished pretty much the same.  We have 2 double beds which are comfy.  Bathroom has a tub which I like.  Small balcony but should prove to be nice to just sit in the evening to see the city all lit up as we had done on our previous stay back in May.  Also before we had direct view of the Nile but now we have a side view of the Nile.  Also a view of the pool and garden area.

Our balcony is just the right size!

We return to the Mobaco Cotton store here at the hotel.  We returned the size 6 one we had bought before for a larger size 7 in an Irish green color.  It's for our son-in-law Bill who is Irish.

Pool time.  For lunch poolside we order a turkey club sandwich which we share.  Sakara beer, Perrier water.  Cost without tip 52.98 LE.  Sit on our balcony relaxing before dinner.

RISTORANTE TUSCANY.  Dinner-Italian restaurant.  Typical Italian decor.  Colors mostly red and yellow.  Richard has spaghetti with scallops and shrimp.  I have penne in a spicy tomato sauce.  Water, coffee.  Cost without tip 279.66 LE.

We sit on our balcony taking in the city sights all lit up.  So stunning.  I'm excited about tomorrow.  We will be visiting all the sights of Islamic Cairo.
